Sandstone is turned into light, joy and endless sweetness by the dynamic “first ‘stonecutter’ woman” in this ancient hamlet located amidst the valleys of River Metauro and River Cesano.

She’s an ambassador of the old sculptors of sandstone and their traditions – dating back over a thousand years. Her sweet in the round Madonna spread harmony and life.

You’ll have the chance to personally meet her, visit her workshop – a traditional craftsman “studio” located in the old hamlet.

She will tell you how she turns her dreams into reality, and the tools she uses.

MONTEBELLO AND ITS COUNTRYSIDE SECRET!

The quaint hamlet of Montebello is waiting for you: there you can enjoy the silence, and a great view on the surrounding wheat fields, home of the renowned organic pasta.

You can have a look at the buildings where the pasta is produced – located on the hills that host the Cesane forest – and hear about how this organic pasta is produced and what its valuable ingredients are.

The experience in detail:

  • Meet at the pasta factory, hear about its history and today’s production;
  • a nice 600m walk through the wood to the Montebello Monastery;
  • visit to the Monastery and the included Ancient Farmers Museum;
  • a nice 500m walk to the Inn where you will dine, and enjoy local food prepared with organic products, possibly while sitting under an attractive pergola where you can admire the stunning view on the surrounding hills.
